nálægt Svätý Hubert, Moravskoslezský (Czechia)

The nature trail of Bílá Opava is probably the most known and the most hiked trail in the Jeseniky mountains in the Czech Republic, but in winter it's a totally different beast than in the summer. In the summer it's quite easy, in the winter it's pretty challenging and can be dangerous if it's icy. This trail od mine shows how it looks and how much time it requires after (during) a fresh snowfall.
The path is standard: starts at the Hubertus parking in Karlova Studanka, continues on a yellow trail through the Bila Opava gorge, then joins the blue trail and continues on the blue trail to the Barborka refuge. This section lasts approx. 6.9km and took around 2 hours and 10 minutes (with photos and stuff). Then I continued with a faster pace and less breaks to the summit of Praděd (3.1km, 45 minutes). From the summit, I returned to the Ovčárna hotel and took a bus back to Karlova Studanka (18 czk, 20 minutes drive, I think that the last one leaves at 16:30). The descent in the snow is tedious and I think it's better to enjoy more time up there and take a bus down. Prepare for the heavy wind at the summit and expect poor visibility there. Enjoy.
