We start walking through a river valley. Them we continue towards El Puerto del Cardo, where we find two anthropomorphic tombs dating back to the pre-Roman period.
We go down to the lake, where we meet some donkeys and where we have our breakfast.
Then we go uphill to the castle. where we then head for the solid stone fountain known as La Fuente Vieja, which is thought to have been built at around the same time as the castle.
The castle dates back to the 13th and 14th centuries. Its structure, and the details on its towers and gates, are typical of the Kingdom of Granada.
Inside the fortified enclosure we can stroll through the streets and admire the houses with their Moorish tiled roofs.
The last part of the trail is believed to be an old Roman road leading to the Roman settlement beneath the foundations of the castle.
