nálægt Clohernagh, Munster (Ireland)

Situated on the eastern end of the Galtees.
This trail is not as busy as the other horseshoe next to it but has it's own unique characteristics well worth finding out.
The ground is particularly spongy but no need for gaiters this time of the year,
The view of Lake Muskry from Greenane mountain is spectacular (pic2).
There are two ascents... the main one to Farbreaga and Greenane east & west and a shorter one to Knockastakeen.
O Loughlins castle perched between east & west Greenane mountains looks like a castle ruin from a distance but is instead a large unique rock formation (pic3) and an ideal spot for a break.

Completed the trail in strong wind and cold fog in January 2018. Great route set by Tony and a great alternative to the well-worn Galtymore horseshoe. In our case, we took a circular detour around the lakes before taking in the final peak
