This is a gorgeous hike from Ke'e Beach to Hanakapi'ai Falls, although I would recommend it only to those who will enjoy having a bath in the falls at end of the trail.

You will follow the beginning of the famous Kalalau Trail until you reach Hanakapi'ai Beach. This spectacular trail was built in the late 1800s to connect Hawaiians living in the remote valleys.
Then you will need to cross Hanakapi'ai stream. If the water is high or fast moving, you should not attempt to cross, it is dangerous.
After you cross the stream you will have to walk along the Valley and cross the river again several times until you get to the beautiful Hanakapi'ai Falls (300 feet high).

I have rated this trail as difficult because you have to cross several streams and it is often very muddy. Although it is possible to cross the streams jumping from rock to rock, there are a lot of people who just cross walking in the water. Just a matter of taste.

It is very important to bring enough food and water, since the water from streams and falls may contain leptospirosis.

Duration: almost 8 hours (including lunch and bath)

Beautiful Falls and a good chance to have a bath
This river shall not be crossed if the water is high or fast moving.
