nálægt Penn Yan, New York (United States)
A nice trail that starts in the town of Penn Yan and follows the outlet river that flows from Keuka Lake to Seneca Lake. There are a couple of nice waterfalls, the trail crosses the river a couple of times, is easy to follow, generally flat and in good condition (even during our early spring hike). Enjoyed some wildlife along the way including some ducks, Canada geese and a woodpecker attacking a tree. Trail is well maintained and has several good areas (complete with picnic tables) for breaks/lunch/snacks.
The trail extends to the town of Dresden and with a 4 hour drive ahead of us we decided to double back at the second waterfall. Scenery was nice as you are nestled in a small valley that the river has carved out through the years, and I'm sure it gets even better with spring foliage or fall colors.
A small park with a covered area, picnic tables and nice access to the falls
Pretty much straight ahead as you stay on the same side of the river
Access here is a little more restricted. Some old buildings, covered area with picnic tables and some port-a-potties.
Roadway bisects the path, keep going straight, stay on the same side of the river.
