Walking up this gravel road you reach some Aloe Vera plants taking the right hand dirt road( locally known as the Roman road).
Reaching the top of the Roman road you observe a cement post marked with green paint spot( these appear regularly throughout this walk).
Pass through the road tunnel under an access road to the A7 motorway.
Keep on the tarmacadam road until you pass under the A7 motorway keep looking for the green spots.
Emerging from this tunnel walking uphill look for a gravel road going off to your right.
Taking this road it leads upwards towards the start of the Barranco.
Staying with this track until you enter the Barranco de la Coladilla.
Walking for approx. 1 mile look for a marked track going up to your right this will lead you out of the Barranco.
On reaching the roadway above turn left heading downwards until reaching a split in the road.
Head uphill at this junction toward El Cielo for approx.1mile.
On reaching a small plateau with views of the adjoining valley and Maro the road goes left downwards IMMEDIATELY LOOK LEFT and observe a single track marked by 3 green spots.
This is the start of your climb up The Shadow of the Wolf.
The track is easy to follow and take you up and over the hill towards your descent marked periodically with green spots.
On summiting you will see the next valley and the Pinarillo picnic area.
Staying on this path is meanders down until you emerge just behind a white pump station building take the left hand road which climbs Avery short distance and then goes downwards towards the the picnic site.
Continuing to walk downward passing throught the picnic area and having walk for approx. 1mile you will observe the junction where you emerged from the Barranco earlier.
Therefore rejoin this track and retrace your walk until the starting point.
