From the sandstone slab that forms this Cerro del Cabezal, upholstered by lichens of an intense yellow color and on a clear day you can see the Grazalema and Líbar Massifs, Sierra del Aljibe, Sierra de las Nieves and Sierra Bermeja, the Rock of Gibraltar and the neighboring Pico Los Garlitos in Sierra Blanquilla.
Closer, we enjoy the continuous panoramic views of the surroundings, seeing the impressive Lajas of Spain and Las Palomas.
We continue along an old forest track created in its day for repopulation of the mountain. Today, it is hardly a path however still noticeable on the ground when walking. To find this path, you have to be attentive to the waypoint that indicates it. Once you reach the Garlitos Lane, you will return to the starting point. A highly recommended option to extend this route is to continue the tailpiece until crowning the geodesic vertex of Los Garlitos Peak, returning by its lane to the starting point.
A great hike shared with Vultures, Wild Boar and the illustrious Cows.
