The seventh day of the Monte Rosa Tour.
During today’s trip you will leave the Ayas Valley and enter the Lys Valley by crossing the Colle del Rothorn (alternatively, a more direct but also less pristine way is through the Colle della Bettaforca, where you can also take the lifts to ease the walk a bit).
From Résy head SW following the scenic path to Lago Ciarcerio, amidst larch groves and a few bubbling streams. Slightly after the lake you should be able to see the pass on your left, whereas on your right you can spot the Lago di Contenery, down below. Go up the trail, in the upper section of Vallone del Contenery, until you get to the pass. Enjoy the unique view on the titanic Monte Rosa and the tiny picturesque Salero lakes, reflecting the sunlight as if they were cerulean mirrors, and continue by descending until you eventually arrive to the ski area. Have a beer (or not), pass next to the small Sant’Anna chapel and proceed further until you pop out next to the road and the Lys river. The day is almost over: just a matter of heading south on level ground and reaching Gressoney-la Trinité.

Il settimo giorno del Tour del Monte Rosa.
Durante la camminata di oggi lascerete la Val d’Ayas per la Valle del Lys, valicando il Colle del Rothorn (in alternativa, una via più diretta ma anche meno immacolata è il Colle della Bettaforca, dove potete anche utilizzare gli impianti per facilitazione).
Da Résy dirigetevi a SO lungo il sentiero panoramico per il Lago Ciarcerio, tra boschi di larice e ruscelli gorgoglianti. Leggermente dopo il lago dovreste essere in grado di vedere il passo alla vostra sinistra, mentre a destra, in basso, potete avvistare il Lago di Contenery. Attaccate la salita, nella parte superiore del Vallone del Contenery, finché non site sulla sommità del passo. Ammirate il titanico Monte Rosa e i piccoli, ma pittoreschi Laghi del Salero, che riflettono i raggi solari come specchi cerulei, e continuate scendendo lungo il versante, finché non vi trovate sulle piste da sci. Fatevi una birra (o no), lasciatevi alle spalle la chiesetta di Sant’Anna e, sempre abbassandovi di quota, sbucherete accanto alla strada e al fiume Lys. La camminata è quasi finita: si tratta meramente di avanzare in piano verso sud fino ad entrare a Gressoney-la-Trinitè.
