Sandy Valley North Trail originates at the north end of the town of Sandy Valley. It is a wide gravel road that carries a lot of heavy traffic from Las Vegas to Sandy Valley.
The road is a wide fast straight road that offers a beautiful view of the desert and surrounding mountains. There are a few side roads that offer unusual glimpses of the desert with no chance of getting lost. There is no fuel available in Sandy Valley.

This is the point on the trail where the name of the road changes from Tuskegee Road to Pahrump Road. It's an intersection.
The mounds of sand that you see primarily on the Northeast side of the road were fresh water springs that trickled up through the desert and left behind the sand.
